The Sons and Daughters of Liberty A Mission Statement We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights and these include Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. (The Declaration of Independence.) This nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. (A. Lincoln) Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country. (JFK) You see things as they are and say why? I dream of things that never were and say why not. (RFK)
The post-Industrial Age and the Global economy slowly diminished the value of government in America to the point where it could rightly be perceived as dying of old age. Its educational institutions, the healthcare industry, banking and finances, the military industrial complex, housing and transportation, taxation, and a myriad of special interests took away our freedom to the point where the country has almost become simply a shadow of yesterday’s glory. We are a nation ruled by oligarchs who control government at the national level, and by special interests across the entire spectrum of everyday life in America. As with the original Sons of Liberty, taxation and lack of representation will usher in a new revolution. However, it is a social revolution and whose time has finally come. The future has arrived. There will be no second Revolutionary War. However, the original Thirteen Colonies were taxed for the French and Indian War and much like the end of the Modern Age America is being taxed in large part due to its ongoing inability to avoid war and warfare throughout the world. Also, the government cannot avoid spending on exotic Silicon Valley digital products that are of no value to Mainstream America but feed the oligarchs. Since the future for young people has become so clouded and bleak, their future is threatened by ignorance , indifference, and arrogance on a massive scale. All models of social behavior need to be updated to meet an unknown future. The first step in this new revolution begins with education as the Digital Age begins its decline. The problems created by one segment of the national/global economy are enormous and do not bode well for the future. Artificial Intelligence carries with it the bizarre notion that machines can replace Human Intelligence although it cannot be shown that machines are able to show any imagination in solving any of humanities social problems by using common sense, faith and belief, or the value of mercy and compassion.
